Pitit is the Haitian word for Child. More specifically to refer to yours or someone else's  children. The other way to say it is Timoun, which can be translated as Little Human.

There is a Haitian saying that goes "Pitit se riches." and I think it is one of the most underrated proverb we have in Haitian creole. if we translate it word to word it will go "Children are wealth" and in fact, that is how most Haitians understand it including myself. Until few days ago, when I was thinking about it and figured it could mean a lot more than that.
